Your summer wedding is just around the corner. This year, countless weddings will probably be thrown into disarray because of COVID-19. But that does not mean you have to wait until the turbulent times have normalized again. In the following, we have put together a few ideas for what your wedding during corona could look like with all your loved ones and while observing all current regulations. 1. Civil Ceremony in a Small Circle with Live Music
Many of you may be wondering: Is a ceremony even possible at the moment? Clearly: yes! Civil and church ceremonies are already possible again, with restrictions, in many regions. However, since the rules differ from state to state, the first thing to do is to find out what the current situation is in your region. If you have the green light for a ceremony at the registry office, you have already overcome a big hurdle to experiencing a unique wedding day. In some cases, the presence of family members (and even witnesses) during the ceremony is allowed. It is best to find out at your registry office what is possible for your ceremony.
The ceremony is over, you have said "I do", exchanged the rings and are now a newly married couple. That has to be celebrated properly. But one thing at a time. Now comes the exit from the registry office. How about some live music to celebrate the day? Simply book a musician who welcomes you in front of the registry office and sings a serenade to your marriage at a safe distance. The crowning finale of a small but fine ceremony. 3. The Wedding Cake at Grandma and Grandpa's
So that the grandparents too can be there on the most beautiful day of their grandchildren's lives, after the sparkling wine at your friends', your next stop could be the garden of your grandma and/or grandpa, where you can cut the wedding cake and, over a little coffee gathering, tell them about the ceremony. Maybe get a Polaroid camera to take a few pictures during the ceremony that you can show and leave behind as a keepsake.
4. The Wedding Dinner at Your Favorite Italian or in Your Own Garden
It does not always have to be a 5-course menu for the wedding dinner. The pizza at your favorite Italian tastes just as good. Whether via delivery service to your own home or at a restaurant: meet up again in the evening with the small wedding party you already celebrated your ceremony with and look back on the day over pizza or pasta and good Italian wine.
Even when restaurants are open, a small barbecue in your own garden is a lovely, personal alternative to a restaurant visit. The advantage here is clearly that you can move around more freely and without a mask, even if at a distance. With a few standing tables, beer benches and a garden decorated full of fairy lights, your small wedding has an incredible amount of charm.
5. The Wedding Dance and the Wedding Party via Livestream
So that all your loved ones can take part in the most beautiful day of your life, your wedding is far from over after dinner!
