Wedding Band Checklist - Perfect Live Music in 3 Steps

How to Book a Wedding Band Made Simple

Find the Perfect Wedding Band with These Tips

- Lea - 12.03.2019 -

Are you in the middle of wedding planning and considering booking a live band? We'll show you with this checklist how to book a live band in three simple steps for your very personal dream wedding and what you should consider. At SofaConcerts you'll find a variety of wedding musicians: From alternative rock bands to romantic singer-songwriters to electro DJs.

1. Which Band Fits Your Wedding?

The bigger the selection, the harder the decision. One thing is certain: the music should inspire you and fit your wedding. So think in advance whether you want to keep it classic and a string quartet would be suitable, or whether your indie wedding would be better accompanied by a folk band. Simply contact our artists for free and without obligation. Many bands also play cover songs, by the way. Just discuss special song requests directly with the musicians and ask them if they can play your favorite song.

Our tip: Use our favorites function to keep track. Under the heart symbol you can save your favorite wedding bands and view them again at a later time. Together with your partner you can then discuss who you want to contact.

2. The Right Time for Your Wedding Band's Performance

When should the band play? Think about an exact schedule when planning your wedding. Musical accompaniment is suitable, for example, during the champagne reception or very romantically during the ceremony. Equally breathtakingly beautiful is of course live accompaniment for the wedding dance or for storming the dance floor uninhibitedly with your mutual friends. For all those who can't quite decide, there's always the option of booking multiple wedding bands for the different occasions of the wedding celebration. Either way, live music gives your wedding a very special charm. You'll see that handmade music is much more touching than any random playlist.

3. Booking the Right Wedding Band

When you book the wedding band or wedding singer directly for your wedding day, you can also make a fee proposal at the same time. But what does a wedding band cost anyway? That depends entirely on how big and how established the band is. It also naturally depends on how long the musicians play and whether they have a long journey. But you should plan for at least €300. Whether glamorous wedding celebration or fine marriage on a small budget, we have the right wedding musicians for you.

  • A wedding is a private event and therefore not subject to GEMA fees. So you don't have to worry about that when booking a band!

  • Most SofaConcerts bands bring their own technology and equipment. Keep in mind at this point that an acoustic set means less effort than a large party band.
  • Should something turn out differently than planned and the musician has to cancel for certain reasons, there's the money-back guarantee for you as hosts.

If you've clarified all your wishes with the band in advance and have considered all points on the checklist, all that's left is to enjoy the day and the music!
